Running from Philly to Nokesville

Alannah Post, Editor-in-Chief

This edition of “A Little Bit” is on a staff member that grew up in the Philadelphia area and attended Ridley High School, where he participated on the school tennis team.  Upon graduation, he attended Widener University, near Philadelphia, where he continued his competitive tennis play.  His father was the football coach at Widener for 20 years, which was part of his decision to attend the school.

After graduation from Widener, he moved to Washington, DC. He worked on Capitol Hill for four years staffing for a Congressman.  He then returned to Pennsylvania and obtained his Master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in political science. He then moved back to the Washington area and worked for SAIC, a federal defense contractor.  In this role, he set up war gaming and arms control exercises.  While working here, he went to night school and obtained a teaching degree in education from George Mason University.

After 4 years at SAIC, he began his teaching career here at Brentsville in 2007, where he also coaches cross country.

Now you know “A Little Bit” about Brian Taylor, Social Studies teacher.
