On November 7, 2018, BDHS Senior Jake Delisi decided to become a Tornado by committing to King University, a NCAA division 2 school in Bristol, Tennessee. Delisi will join 2018 Graduate and former BDHS baseball player Garrett Cornell.

Baseball for Delisi started 12 years ago stemming from his father who has pushed him to become the player he is today. Delisi said “I guess I can say my dad inspired me to play baseball, follow his footsteps”.

Before deciding on King University, Delisi drew interest from Lynchburg, Christopher Newport University, Frostburg State, and Marymount.

“King just made me feel like home,” Admitted Delisi. “It’s (King University) also kinda in the country, like Brentsville.”

Delisi is entering his Senior season at BDHS coming off of an All-region season he hopes to be an immediate contributor. Delisi played a huge role in the BDHS run to the State Semifinals as the star defensive shortstop.

Delisi hopes to leave BDHS with a State title and receiving All-State recognition. Delisi responded “Leaving BDHS with these things is important so everyone will know how my hard work and dedication pays off”.

Delisi is excited to get to King and start playing collegiate baseball, but he will always remember his time at BDHS and the success he has had.
