Perfect Design

Natalie Bashore

This design started as an eye, but then I expanded on it. This painting became a design with different shapes instead of an eye. This art piece is called “Perfect Design” because it looks well put together at a first glance, but if you look at it closer and for longer, you’ll notice the center of it and the dark piece in the bottom right corner, which are different than everything else in the painting. From my perspective as the person who did this painting, the center piece is like a healing wound that still has some visible scars, and the darker piece with red dashes is like a fresh and open wound that is easily noticeable, with some red parts around it. This design seems fine and perfect, but there are still some scars, and still some problems in it. This concept can be relatable to other people, including myself. Some of my own personal struggles are what inspired this art piece.
