BDHS tigers prepare for their game.

With the fourth win of the season for the BDHS Varsity football Tigers, the team looks to keep their win streak alive and improve it to three wins in a row.

The Tigers have been putting their best effort into football all year, especially now, with only three games left of the season. The Tigers improve to four and three on the season after Friday’s win.

The varsity team is led by juniors Brady Hoad and Guy Hayes offensively. While on the defensive side, seniors Yuri Smaltz, Kevin Peterson, and Matthew Basala guide the team.

Junior Quarterback Guy Hayes had an outstanding game on Friday, throwing for over 100 yards passing and ran for 200 yards. He threw for two passing touchdowns and rushed for three more. On the other hand, Brady Hoad ran for 100 rushing yards and put up one rushing touchdown. On the defensive side, seniors Yuri Smaltz and Kevin Peterson both had interceptions and Matthew Basala with the game sealing fumble recovery.

Our best performance has to go to guy Hayes, our junior quarterback who rushed for three touchdowns and threw for two more.

The Tigers started their year off zero and two, then quickly improved to two and two. With a slow start to the season, the tigers have bounced back quickly and now have a wining record. Their season has been up and down all year, but now it is finally looking like a playoff season.

The team heads to Central High School next week, which will be a must win game for them. Central High School is three and five and Central is looking to bounce back from a loss. This will not be an easy game for BDHS, as they play one of their final away games.

BDHS is looking to win again and keep their win streak alive as they head back home for their final home game of the year. It is senior night for Brentsville in two weeks and the tigers have been looking forward to this game all year.

The tigers are four and one from their last five games and two and zero in their district play. They remain in third place in region 3B. They look to keep moving up in district play and look to secure a spot in this years playoffs.

As the tigers approach their final games of the season, the tigers look to close out the season with a winning record and to make a playoff run in hopes on winning states this year.
