Prom is a huge part of a student’s high school experience, but it can be very stressful to get the right attire and achieve the right look.

The best way to start your search for the perfect prom outfit is to search online. The internet has tons of useful websites such as lulus.com and promgirl.com.

Once you have a vision for the look you’re going for, visiting a prom store in person can make the process easier.  This way, you can ensure your dress or tux fits since finding the perfect size online can be difficult.

Additional tips to keep in mind while shopping include: making sure you have a dress that fits your shape, a dress that is not too common, something that will catch attention, and bring out your personality. Shoes that you can be comfortable in.

For girls, makeup that is long lasting and can make it through the night is key to perfect pictures and getting you through the long night of dancing. Makeup essentials include: mattifying foundation, matte lipstick, waterproof mascara, and setting spray.

Prom is the time of year to pamper yourself, so make a nail appointment and get relaxed. A face mask the night before prom is also a good idea, so you wake up with glowy skin.

Treat yourself and go shopping for accessories like necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings. These accessories add to the look and enhance your dress.

For guys, a fresh haircut is the best way to look spiffy for the night, A clean shaven face could also be a good addition.

Wear nice shoes and a tux that fits perfectly. Make sure you check with your date ahead of time to make sure to the colors coordinate.

The day of prom, make sure you schedule enough time to get ready, take pictures, go out to eat, etc.  In  a clutch,

having the essentials in your bag, such as perfume, deodorant, oil blotting sheets, tissues, hair ties, feminine products, mints, and gum, can save a life.”

As far as transportation to prom goes, if you are planning to go all out, make sure to rent a limo from a trust worthycompany. Look for limos that fit a budget you and your friends can manage.

The Roar hopes these prom essentials helped with your prom night. Prom night is a time to have fun and make memories, but be safe and don’t let anyone ruin your night.
